I attended Both Of Patty's shows at the Wayne County Fair in Wooster, OH Wendsday night Sept. 15, it was a big fair and fairgrounds, in a farm area of Ohio but living in the western suburbs of Chicago, I am not used to watching where I step, I learned quick though. If anyone who reads this has never been to a Patty Loveless concert before, do yourself a favor and go see her, even if you have to drive a long way, it is worth every mile of it. Listening to Patty's CD's are amazing, but hearing her sing, and hum in person is undiscribable. One thing I can discribe is the way Patty and the band interact on stage, they really look like they are having fun. Patty was all smiles in both shows, and if you wave to her she will wave back.Patty has surrounded herself with some of the most talented musicians in Country Music. It was great to see Pete back on the Pedal Steel, and Dobro, he didn't miss a beat. I know I have mentioned this in my previous reviews this year and I will again, "The Grandpa That I Know" is truely a great song. TGTIK has everything a Country song should have, a great and touching story, great harmony singing, and I noticed something I had not noticed in the previous shows I went to this year, Deanies fiddle playing through one of chorous, that just added so much more to the song. I am happy Patty has been doing this song all year, it reminds me of the times I had at both sets of my Grandparents homes, in Paris, TN when I was a kid, every time I hear it. There was no Mountain Soul set, but 2 shows in one night made up for that. I won't go through the set list, they didn't change too much, but the second show was about 3, or 4 songs longer than the first show. 2 quick hilghts I will mention are, "The Trouble With The Truth", I've been reading on the boards about how great this song is in concert, everyone is right, the last word Patty holds it, and turns it a little, everyone in the crowd got a kick out of it. And "Nothing Like The Lonely" at the opening with Deanie playing Fiddle, and Patty humming. They were in perfect harmony, what a great song. I have one more show to go to this season, I can't wait. Cole, thanks for giving us the room to post these reviews, Mike Hopkins
