Features: Why Baby Why, Crazy Arms, He Thinks I Still Care

In the heart of Central Virginia, just outside of what was once the capital city of the South, Patty Loveless sounded amazing! With a large and enthusiastic crowd on hand, Patty finally emerged and started off with one of her well known staples, "Tear Stained Letter". She started off with "Tear Stained Letter" and a lot of the crowd around me was singing along. I found it comforting being around people that adore Patty just as much as I do singing a long. In-between songs, an adorable girl, whom now I know is Wanda’s daughter, Sara gave Patty a flower, and then a man came up with a bouquet of flowers. She told him to go away, jokingly, that he wasn't as cute as the little girl, but then said, flirtatiously, "But you are handsome."

Often times the band goes unnoticed or unheralded with other performers, but Patty does a great job of allowing each member of her band to showcase their talents and share the spotlight. This makes for a well-rounded and fun concert. Her band can jam! From long electric guitar solos, to intricate fiddle and banjo intros on numbers like "Nothin’ Like Lonely”, to amazing triple fiddle work on tunes like "The Boys are Back In Town", Patty's fine group gives the audience a taste of everything. Patty did” Blame It On Your Heart” with the Audience involved. I’ve done that at every concert that I’ve been too, but for some reason this time it was even more enjoyable than the last time. I love how Deanie gets everyone involved! I actually got my husband, Jake to get up and dance during “Blame It On Your Heart”

Patty also did "The Grandpa I Used To Know" as a tribute to Emory's Grandpa, Grandpa Cochran. Who passed away at the age of 92. After leaving the audience wanting for more, Patty returned after several minutes and spoke some touching words about her husband, Emory. Who she then told everyone that Emory was in the hospital, but assured us that he will be ok .She then closed out with a heartfelt rendition of one of her earliest classics, "If My Heart Had Windows", fittingly dedicated to her husband. Time does fly when you having fun .I remember waiting patiently all week to see Patty and now it's over. I’m looking forward and already planning to see Patty again!
