A bunch of us headed to the Ryman last night to see our girl perform at the
Music Saves Mountains benefit. While she was there for the entire show, it wasn't really
her show, and she didn't sing a ton, so, I'm really not writing a review up, but a few notes (and as always, we have plenty of discussion at the
boards) from the show:
Patty sang “Harlan”, opening it by noting about her father passing away of Black Lung, and it was by far one of the highlights of the show. A few folks that sat near us told us afterwards that they were not “overly” familiar with Patty’s catalog, but were super impressed. She also sang “Didn’t Leave Nobody But the Baby” with Emmylou and Alison Krauss, and then sang “Paradise” (John Prine) with Emmylou, Alison Krauss, and Kathy Mattea. The show as closed out with the entire group singing “I Shall Be Released”. The Ryman camera natzi’s were not pleased once again with my camera, (how they know I even have my massive lenses is beyond me, I have pretty mad camera hiding skills!) but alas, no pictures—from me anyway. The wire has some up so as soon as we get them purchased, and downloaded, we'll have them up! For now,
Terra has some up.
CMT has up a
review from the show.... There are some floating around, but most focus on Dave Matthews. (Who apparently, is a big deal. In waiting for P to arrive, multiple people asked me if Dave had gotten there yet. When I had to reply, "I have no clue, can you tell me what he looks like??", I had some floored faces staring back at me!)
Patty & Emory were gracious enough to stop and sign on their way out….so we
do have pictures from that : ) Check back later for some new photos (and more new additions to pattytube as well)
