While walking upwards of 20 miles per day during his cross-country trek from Nashville to Phoenix for his Meet Me Halfway Campaign, Jimmy Wayne had ample time to do some creative thinking. So much time, in fact, that he worked with author Travis Thrasher via numerous long-distance phone conversations to parlay Jimmy's well-known story of growing up in the foster system-and at times being homeless-into a book of life-based fiction. Paper Angels, the title of which is a reference to the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program, is slated to release in fall 2011 through Howard Books.

The book will subtly incorporate several of the people he met during his walk across the country. “Not the people, just their names. Small bits of the experience. And I'll include some of the names of my favorite country singers. Like Patty Loveless, for example. She is playing on the radio in one of the scenes of the book. I don't want to give it away, but it has subtle stuff like that,” he tells Country Weekly.

"We all have books that we keep titles in because if a phrase comes to us, we don't want to forget it. We're always writing things down," Kimberly of Little Big Town tells The Boot. "In Karen [Fairchild]'s book, she had written the phrase 'little white church.' One day, she and I were listening to some old Patty Loveless - the 'Mountain Soul' record. We were talking about the call-and-answer kind of songs from this album. We were in love with the idea and just ran with it ... We wrote that song in a few hours. We had so much fun writing it."

AARP announced it will bring its annual National Event & Expo to the city of Orlando this fall. Taking place at the Orange County Convention Center from September 30th - October 2nd, Orlando@50+ is a three-day event focused on helping the 50+ audience live their best life and will have something for everyone with entertainment, celebrities, experts and exhibits.

Patty will be a featured session on Thursday, September 30th, from 5:00-6:00PM.
