The photo gallery got a much needed face lift today....since it hasn't had one in three years!

We're attempting to get some older years worth of tours uploaded in there. It's taking a little while to get everything sorted, but we should have some making it's way to the gallery each week.

Hampton Roads MS II Review

Patty Loveless - 'Mountain Soul II'

“Mountain Soul” was a success for Patty Loveless in 2001. The follow-up, “Mountain Soul II,” will be released Sept. 29, featuring the same musicians plus special guests such as Del and Ronnie McCoury, Emmylou Harris, and Vince Gill .

The opening song is particularly interesting. “Busted,” penned by Harlan Howard in 1962, was a hit for John Conlee and, later, Ray Charles.

“Diamond in My Crown” was written several moons ago by Emmylou Harris, who works harmony this go-round with Loveless.

Three songs that are strictly gospel are among the best offerings, thanks to the arrangements by producer/husband Emory Gordy Jr., who penned them with Loveless. The best of the trio is “(We Are All) Children of Abraham.” Loveless really shines vocally on “Working on a Building,” and “Friends in Gloryland” is another album highlight.

If you are still into the genuine country sound, if you love the honesty of music from Appalachia, if you are into good bluegrass twang, you will enjoy “Mountain Soul II,” which offers generous helpings of all three.

Tracks to download - “Diamond in My Crown,” “Working on a Building”
